Soil investigations begin on site

Soil condition investigations have commenced at the Shell Centre. This does not indicate the start of construction. Investigations are taking place on York Road footpath, Belvedere Road footpath, the Shell Podium and internal courtyard. Works involve drilling boreholes to confirm soil composition and depths across the site.
These works are in preparation for the Shell Centre redevelopment by Canary Wharf Group plc and Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.
For safety reasons, these areas will be cordoned off for 10-12 weeks. The project team apologise for any inconvenience caused.
